This standard is equivalent to ISO3070:1987 "corrugated board - edge pressure strength measurement".

This standard is a revised version of GB6546 - 86 method for determining the edge strength of corrugated paper.

This standard is written in accordance with GB/T1.1-1993 "first unit of standardized work guide: the first part of standard drafting and expression rules: the basic regulations of standard writing".

This standard will replace GB6546-86 at the same time from the date of implementation.

Drafting unit of this standard: China pulp and Paper Industry Research Institute.

The main drafters of this standard are Li Lanfen and Zhang Shaoling.

1 range

This standard specifies the method of measuring the edge crush strength of corrugated cardboard.

This standard is applicable to the measurement of edge crush strength of corrugated board (three stories), double corrugating (five stories) and three corrugating (seven layers) corrugated paperboard.

2 reference standard

The provisions contained in the following standards constitute the provisions of this standard by reference in this standard. When this standard is published, all the versions are valid. All standards will be revised, and the parties using this standard should explore the performance of the latest version of the following standards.

3 test principle

The rectangular corrugated cardboard specimen is placed between the two press plates of the compression tester, and the corrugated direction of the specimen is perpendicular to the two press plate of the compression tester, and then the pressure is applied to the specimen until the specimen is crushed. Determine the maximum pressure that each sample can bear.

4 test instrument

4.1 fixed pressure plate type electronic compression tester

The compression instrument is operated by a fixed pressure plate and another directly rigid driving plate, and the moving speed of the movable pressure plate is (12.5 + 2.5) mm/min. The size of the pressboard should meet the selected size of the sample so that the specimen will not exceed the pressure plate. The pressboard should also meet the following requirements:

The parallelism deviation of the A. plate is not more than 1:1000.

B. transversal movement does not exceed 0.05mm.

4.2 bending beam compressors

The compressing instrument is based on the working principle of beam bending, and the requirements for the upper and lower pressing plates are the same as those of the fixed plate type electronic compression apparatus. During the test, the scale of the crushing moment should be within the 20%-80% range of the deflection range that the instrument may measure. When the pressure plate begins to contact the sample, the pressure of the plate should be (67 + 13) N/s.

When using this instrument, the test should be indicated in the report and not used for the examination.

4.3 cutting device

You can use band saws or knives, and you can use molds to prepare samples, but you must cut out the edges that are smooth, straight and perpendicular to the surface of the board.

4.4 guide block

Two pieces of smooth and plotted metal block are worn, the size of which is 20mm x 20mm and the length is less than 100mm; the guide block is used to support the specimen and the specimen is perpendicular to the press plate.

The adoption and treatment of 5 samples

The 5.1 sample shall be taken according to the provisions of GB450.

5.2 the samples should be treated with temperature and humidity according to GB10739 regulations.

Preparation of 6 sample

The rectangular specimen with a short edge is selected and its dimensions are (25 + 0.5) mm x (100 + 0.5) mm. No indentation, printing marks and damage shall be allowed on the specimen. At least 10 samples are required unless agreed by both parties.

7 test steps

Samples and tests are carried out under 5.2 specified atmospheric conditions.

The specimen is placed in the middle of the plate, so that the short edge of the sample is perpendicular to the two plate, and the sample is supported by the guide block, so that the end face is perpendicular to the two plate, and the two guide blocks are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the surface of the sample.

Open the wing test instrument, apply pressure. When the pressure is close to 50N, remove the guide block until the specimen collapsing. Record the maximum pressure that the specimen can bear, accurate to 1N.

Test the remaining sample according to the above steps.

8 result representation

The vertical edge compressive strength is calculated according to formula (1), expressed in N/:

R = F x 103/L

In the formula: R - vertical edge compression strength, N/m

F - maximum pressure, N;

L - the size of the long side of the sample, mm.

9 test report

The test report includes the following:

A. national standard number;

B. sample type and specification;

The standards used in the C. test;

D. atmospheric conditions in the test site;

The model and pressure speed of the tester used by E.;

The arithmetic mean of the results of the f. test;

G. other information that helps to explain the results of the test.
